Issa Abdalla Timamy is a prominent Kenyan lawyer and politician who currently serves as the Governor of Lamu County. Born on September 12, 1959, in Mkomani, Lamu, Timamy has played a significant role in the political and administrative landscape of the Kenyan coast, establishing himself as a key figure in the era of devolved government. His professional journey spans the corporate, legal, and public sectors, marked by a trajectory that transitioned from private enterprise and institutional management to high-level elective politics. Timamy’s formative years were spent in his home county of Lamu, where he attended Lamu Primary School and subsequently Sacred Heart Primary School. He later pursued secondary education at Allidina Visram High School in Mombasa. His higher education was rooted in the study of law, which he undertook at the University of Nairobi.
