The award highlights the company's focus on affordable land ownership and innovative financing amid Kenya's growing housing demand and urbanization.

Username Properties Ltd. has been awarded the title of Best Land & Property Investment Company in Kenya at the Star Brands Awards 2025. The ceremony, held on Friday, 14th November 2025, at the Sarit Centre & Expo in Nairobi, recognized the company for its innovation, brand integrity, and customer satisfaction in the real estate sector. The event was attended by key industry figures, including Principal Secretary for the State Department of Investment and Promotion, Abubakar Hassan Abubakar, who was the chief guest.
In her acceptance speech, Username Properties CEO, Sarah Wahogo, stated that the award reflects the trust clients have in the company. She emphasized the firm's mission to make land ownership a reality for more Kenyans, aiming to break the cycle of renting. "Our mission at Username Properties Ltd. extends beyond selling land; it is about making genuine home ownership a reality for thousands of hardworking Kenyans," Wahogo said. This mission aligns with a significant challenge in Kenya's urban areas, where a majority of households rent, dedicating a large portion of their income to housing without building equity.
A key strategy highlighted by the company is the role of its financial arm, Username Sacco. Launched in October 2025, the Sacco is designed to provide affordable and flexible financing options for property investment, particularly targeting younger Kenyans. According to Wahogo, the Sacco offers property loan packages with deposits as low as 5% and repayment terms of up to 36 months. This initiative is part of a broader trend in Kenya's real estate market, which is seeing an evolution in financing models to address the high demand for affordable housing.
Username Properties' recognition comes at a time when the Kenyan real estate market is experiencing significant shifts. The sector is a notable contributor to the country's GDP and is projected to continue its growth trajectory, driven by rapid urbanization and a growing middle class. Key trends for 2025 include a rising demand for affordable housing, the expansion of investments into satellite towns around major cities, and an increased focus on sustainable and smart homes. The government's Affordable Housing Programme further underscores the national priority of addressing the housing deficit, which is estimated to exceed two million units. However, the market also faces challenges, including inflation and potential oversupply in certain segments.
This is not the first time Username Properties has been recognized for its work. The company has previously won several accolades, including the Top 100 Mid-sized Companies Award, Most Impactful Real Estate Company of the Year, and Real Estate SME of the Year. CEO Sarah Wahogo has also been personally recognized, named one of the Top 5 Women in Real Estate at the Dependable Brands Awards in 2024. The company has been in operation for over 13 years, focusing on providing value-added plots in high-growth areas.
The Star Brands Awards celebrate companies that demonstrate market leadership and a strong impact on Kenya's business landscape. By securing this award, Username Properties solidifies its position as a significant player in shaping the country's real estate sector.
