A senior DCI officer is disarmed and under investigation after allegedly shooting two men at a Kitengela club, contradicting his claim of firing warning shots.

The blurred line between law enforcement and lawlessness has once again been exposed, this time on the neon-lit dancefloor of a Kitengela nightclub. A senior officer attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has been disarmed and summoned for interrogation after allegedly shooting two civilians during a barroom brawl.
The incident, which occurred at the popular C&M Lounge and Accommodation, has left two men—Joseph Mosunu and Kevin Maseri—fighting for their lives in the Intensive Care Unit at Kajiado County Referral Hospital. What began as a night of revelry ended in bloodshed, sparking outrage among residents who are increasingly weary of "cowboy" officers abusing their power.
The narrative is split. The officer, in his recorded statement, claims he was a peacemaker. He asserts that he intervened to stop a fight and was forced to discharge his firearm in the air to disperse a hostile crowd. He further alleges that other officers present also fired shots, painting a picture of a chaotic riot.
Eyewitnesses, however, tell a damningly different story. They claim an altercation ensued directly between the officer and the victims. "He didn't shoot in the air; he shot at them," one witness told the press. The ballistic evidence—bullet wounds to the abdomen—seems to contradict the "warning shot" theory.
Kitengela police bosses have promised a transparent probe. "No stone will be left unturned," assured a senior commander. But for the residents of Kajiado, assurances are cheap. They want accountability.
As the DCI detectives reconstruct the scene, the officer’s career hangs by a thread. But more importantly, two lives hang in the balance in a hospital ward, victims of a system where a badge and a gun are too often a license for impunity.
