X rushes to patch Grok AI to prevent it from generating nude images of real people, bowing to legal pressure and public outcry over digital harassment.

The line between innovation and violation has been redrawn. X has implemented urgent technological blocks to prevent its Grok AI from "undressing" images of real people. The update geoblocks the feature in jurisdictions with strict deepfake laws and prevents the generation of nudity for all non-paying users.
"We have implemented measures to prevent the editing of images to show revealing clothing such as bikinis," the company announced. The move is a direct response to the "Deepfake Epidemic" where bad actors used the tool to harass women. While paying subscribers retain some editing capabilities, the platform warns that any illegal misuse will result in an instant ban and reporting to authorities.
Elon Musk defended the tool’s original design as adhering to "R-rated movie standards" but admitted that the patchwork of global laws requires a more nuanced approach. "Free speech is not free reach for illegal content," he clarified. The frantic patching of the software shows that even Silicon Valley is struggling to contain the monsters it creates.
