Inspectors give the green light for the 2026 games, setting the stage for a regional sporting showdown.

The stage is set for the biggest school sports spectacle in the region. Morogoro, Tanzania, has been officially confirmed as the host city for the 2026 Federation of East African Schools` Sports Association (FEASSA) games, following a successful inspection by regional officials.
FEASSA Secretary General David Ngugi expressed satisfaction with the facilities, giving the nod for the August 12-23 showdown. Located 196 kilometres west of Dar es Salaam, Morogoro offers a scenic yet competitive environment for the thousands of students expected to descend upon it. With the Standard Gauge Railway linking the city, logistics for teams from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi are expected to be smoother than ever.
The games will not just be a test of talent but of organization. The hosting plan includes:
Kenya enters the tournament as the defending champion after a stellar performance in Kakamega last year that dethroned Uganda. Schools like Kisii School (Rugby 15s champions) have already sounded the war drums, vowing to retain their titles on Tanzanian soil.
"Morogoro is a nice place... excellent for a championship," Ngugi remarked. As the KSSSA prepares for its upcoming AGM, the focus is squarely on ensuring Team Kenya conquers the region once again.
