Saboti MP Caleb Amisi urges ODM leaders to stop the premature 2027 campaign noise and internal wrangles, warning that neglecting the voters' economic struggles will cost the party.

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has called for a ceasefire in the internal wars rocking the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). In a candid address to party delegates, Amisi warned that the obsession with 2027 positioning is blinding the party to the realities of 2026, threatening to alienate voters who are struggling with the cost of living.
"Elections are in August 2027, not February 2026," Amisi chastised his colleagues. "We are busy fighting over who will be the flagbearer, yet our people cannot afford unga. If we continue this noise, we will find an empty room when we finally decide to speak."
Amisi, one of the few youthful MPs who survived the UDA wave in the North Rift, argued that ODM’s strength lies in its advocacy for the common man, not in boardroom deals. He urged the leadership to refocus on strengthening the party’s grassroots structures and offering alternative policies to the government’s tax regime.
The MP’s sobering advice is a rare voice of reason in a party consumed by succession fever, reminding leaders that power is borrowed from the people, not inherited from chiefs.
