Ukraine collaborates with SpaceX to cut off Russian forces from using illicit Starlink terminals to guide long-range drones, escalating the tech war to a critical new level.

Kyiv has opened a new front in its technological war against Moscow, initiating emergency protocols with SpaceX to sever Russian access to the Starlink satellite network.
The move follows intelligence reports confirming that Russian forces are using illicitly acquired Starlink terminals to guide long-range attack drones into the heart of Ukraine. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov described the situation as "critical," warning that Western technology is being weaponized against the very democracy it was meant to defend.
While SpaceX does not sell directly to Russia, terminals have flooded the front lines through a complex web of black-market intermediaries in the Middle East and Central Asia. Russian commanders are reportedly strapping these terminals onto BM-35 drones, granting them jam-resistant control links over distances of up to 500 kilometers.
"We are seeing drones with stable connections deep in our rear guard," a Ukrainian military source revealed. "They are using Musk's satellites to hunt our children."
Fedorov praised SpaceX for its "swift response" to the latest evidence, but the challenge remains immense. As soon as one batch of terminals is geofenced, Russian smugglers find ways to spoof locations or route traffic through friendly territories.
This technological tug-of-war highlights the grey zone of modern warfare, where a private US company holds the kill switch for military operations on the European continent. For the civilians in Kharkiv and Odesa, the success of these talks is not theoretical—it is a matter of life and death.
