The local launch follows Apple's global unveiling of four new models in September, signalling a continued high demand for premium smartphones in Kenya's expanding technology sector.

NAIROBI, KENYA, November 5 – Apple Authorized Reseller Salute iWorld has officially launched the iPhone 17 series in Kenya, making the much-anticipated lineup available to local consumers, the company announced on Wednesday. The introduction includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, which were globally unveiled by Apple Inc. on September 9, 2025, and released in initial markets on September 19.
In a move to enhance customer experience alongside the launch, Salute iWorld has invested Sh5 million in renovating its flagship store at the Village Market. Vincent Onyango, the Business Manager at Salute iWorld, stated that the goal was to create an immersive and memorable environment for customers to explore the new technology. The revamped space features interactive displays designed to showcase the capabilities of the new devices.
The new series represents a significant step up in mobile technology. Vivek Mehra, Managing Director of Salute Holdings Group, described the Pro models as a “leap forward,” highlighting the introduction of the new A19 Pro chip. This processor, built on a 3nm process, features a 6-core CPU and a 5 or 6-core GPU, delivering substantial performance and efficiency gains over the previous generation. According to Apple's September 9 announcement, the A19 Pro is designed to handle intensive tasks, including advanced AI workloads and high-performance gaming.
The camera systems on the Pro models have also seen a major upgrade, now featuring three 48MP Fusion cameras for the Main, Ultra-Wide, and Telephoto lenses. This new system supports up to 8x optical-quality zoom, a significant enhancement for mobile photography and videography. Furthering its appeal to creative professionals, the devices introduce features like ProRes RAW and Apple Log 2 video formats.
Durability has been addressed with the introduction of Ceramic Shield 2, which now protects both the front and back of the phones and offers three times better scratch resistance, according to company statements. The Pro models are available in new finishes, including Deep Blue, Cosmic Orange, and Silver.
The arrival of the iPhone 17 series underscores the strength of Kenya's premium smartphone market. Salute iWorld, which was established in 2012 and now operates nine outlets across the country, is positioning itself to meet this demand. To improve affordability and accessibility for Kenyan consumers, the reseller has maintained and expanded its partnerships with several key financial institutions.
Collaborations with KCB, NCBA Loop, Standard Chartered, I&M Bank, Flexpay, and Spotit will allow customers to purchase the new iPhones through flexible payment plans. This strategy is crucial in a market where upfront cost can be a significant barrier to entry for high-end electronics. The availability of financing options is expected to drive wider adoption of the latest Apple technology among Kenyan professionals, creatives, and tech enthusiasts.
The launch by Salute iWorld, nearly two months after the global release, aligns with typical timelines for new technology rollouts in the region and signals the growing importance of the East African market for global brands like Apple.
