President William Ruto reiterated his pledge to honor all his campaign promises and dismissed critics, highlighting progress on economic and development goals amid skepticism.
Machakos, Kenya – President William Ruto reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on all his campaign promises during a church ceremony in Machakos County on Sunday. He challenged critics who accused him of over-promising, insisting that he would prove them wrong through concrete results.
Speaking at the consecration of a new bishop, Ruto said he was "raising [the nation’s] ambition" rather than simply making empty pledges. He recounted advice from a religious leader who urged him to walk back some campaign promises, but the President said he refused, vowing, "I have no such intention. I intend to keep every promise I made."
Ruto also addressed the economy, telling Kenyans that the strategies announced by his government were already showing positive results. “What I said about the economy, I meant it, and it is happening. Our economy is growing, and the numbers show it,” he said, acknowledging that skeptics remained but expressing confidence in Kenya’s future growth.
The ceremony in Masaku included senior church leaders and local officials, and highlighted unity between the government and religious community. President Ruto expressed optimism that continued improvements in infrastructure and job creation would soon silence his doubters. He concluded by saying he would “shame” those alleging his administration was failing, promising that hard work would demonstrate the government’s achievements.
