Maranda High leads Nyanza with a 10.2 mean score and 101 As, while Maseno and Asumbi Girls also post stellar results in the 2025 KCSE exams.

The academic giants of Nyanza have roared back to life. Maranda High School, Maseno School, and Asumbi Girls have posted stunning results in the 2025 KCSE exams, reasserting the region’s dominance on the national stage.
Leading the pack is Maranda High School, which achieved a remarkable mean score of 10.2. In a display of pure academic muscle, the school produced 101 straight As, with only 10 candidates failing to attain the university entry grade. It is a performance that Principal Erick Mito attributes to "discipline and early syllabus coverage."
"We focused on mentorship and mathematics," noted Maranda's Director of Academics. The results validate the region's investment in infrastructure and teacher motivation. For the parents of Nyanza, the heavy investment in school fees has paid off in the form of university admission letters.
