Murang’a County MCA Grace Nduta Wairimu has been arrested by detectives in connection with the alleged staged disappearance of Juja MP George Koimburi, an incident authorities are now terming a "stage-managed abduction."
Murang’a, Kenya – Police authorities confirmed on May 29 the arrest of Grace Nduta Wairimu, a Member of County Assembly (MCA) from Murang’a, in connection with the controversial and allegedly staged disappearance of Juja Member of Parliament, George Koimburi. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) stated that MCA Nduta was apprehended at her residence on May 28 as part of an intensive ongoing investigation into what officials are now treating as a “stage-managed abduction” of the Juja MP.
Detectives involved in the probe claim that Nduta possessed prior knowledge of the purported abduction. According to the DCI, investigating officers have evidence placing her at the scene of the alleged crime on the night of May 25. Fellow officials from Murang’a County were present as detectives took Nduta into custody in the Gatanga constituency. She is expected to undergo thorough questioning regarding her involvement and knowledge of the events surrounding Koimburi's disappearance.
The Murang’a County Governor, Irungu Kang’ata, publicly acknowledged and welcomed the arrest. In a social media post, Governor Kang’ata stated, “Detectives have apprehended Kanyenyaini Ward MCA Grace Nduta, in connection with the alleged capture of Juja MP George Koimburi.” The investigation remains active as authorities work to uncover the full extent of the alleged plot and identify any other individuals who may have been involved in orchestrating the incident.
