Nandi Hills Primary School Gets Sh14 Million Multipurpose Hall and New Classroom

Nandi, May 18

Nandi Hills Comprehensive Primary School in Nandi East has received a major boost following the commissioning of a Sh14 million multipurpose hall and an additional classroom, a development expected to significantly enhance the learning environment.

The new facilities were officially commissioned by Nandi County Director of Education, Harrison Muriuki, during a ceremony held at the school.

The state-of-the-art hall, constructed through a partnership between a local tea company and other development partners, will serve as both a dining facility and a venue for school activities, including assemblies, performances, and indoor events.

“This hall is not just a building; it is an investment in our children’s safety, nutrition, and holistic education,” Muriuki said during the event. “We thank our partners for their commitment to the educational welfare of our learners.”

Enhanced Learning Environment

The hall is expected to provide a safer, more conducive space for student activities, particularly during extreme weather, while the newly built classroom will help reduce overcrowding and improve the teacher-to-student ratio.

School officials and local leaders hailed the development as a timely intervention that reflects growing public-private collaboration in improving education infrastructure.

“We are proud to see such strong partnerships at work. These facilities will go a long way in supporting both academic performance and student well-being,” noted a school board representative.

Community and Corporate Support Praised

The tea company behind the project was commended for its role in promoting corporate social responsibility and contributing to sustainable education development in the region.

As enrollment numbers rise across public schools in Nandi, such investments are viewed as critical in bridging infrastructure gaps and ensuring all learners have access to quality, inclusive education.
