Embu, Kenya – Embu Governor Cecil Mbarire has praised Deputy President Kithire Kindiki for his concerted campaigns of popularising the ruling United Democratic (UDA) party nationwide.
Embu, Kenya — September 26, 2025.
Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire has praised Deputy President Kithure Kindiki for his relentless efforts in popularising the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) across Kenya, describing him as a key figure in shaping the party into a truly national political movement.
Speaking during the handing over of nomination certificates at the UDA headquarters on Friday, Mbarire commended Kindiki’s dedication, noting that he had taken up the mantle of leadership in driving party unity and outreach while President William Ruto focuses on running the government.
“We appreciate the leadership role you are playing in the party. Our leader has been a busy man, but you have taken the leadership mantle quite well. I appreciate the many national, county, and constituency meetings you continue to hold across the country. You have kept the UDA flag flying,” Mbarire said.
The event comes ahead of the November 27, 2025, by-elections, where UDA seeks to consolidate its political dominance by fielding candidates in multiple constituencies and wards nationwide.
Kindiki’s role: Since assuming office as Deputy President, Kindiki has become one of the most visible faces of UDA, spearheading campaigns, grassroots mobilization, and public engagement forums.
Strategic timing: The ruling party sees the upcoming mini-polls as a litmus test ahead of the 2027 general elections, with internal cohesion and national visibility being top priorities.
Political backdrop: UDA has positioned itself as the engine behind President Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), linking party activities with flagship development programs.
Governor Cecily Mbarire: Lauded Kindiki for maintaining party momentum and holding meetings across counties to rally support for UDA’s agenda.
Political analysts: Argue that UDA’s outreach efforts will likely shape voter perceptions ahead of 2027, especially in regions historically aligned with opposition parties.

Political impact: UDA’s aggressive campaigns could consolidate its support base but may also heighten opposition criticism over state resources being used for partisan activities.
Public perception: Success in the by-elections could boost confidence in UDA’s leadership ahead of 2027, while poor performance might trigger internal party tensions.
National agenda: Linking party activities to BETA projects could help bridge the gap between politics and development, influencing voter loyalty.
