The LSK launches a nationwide crackdown on fake lawyers, arresting impostors in Machakos and exposing a syndicate of "cyber cafe advocates" defrauding the public.

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has declared war on legal impostors, unearthing a rot so deep that "advocates" arguing your case might just be tea girls in borrowed robes.
This isn't just about protecting turf; it's about the sanctity of justice. The arrest of a woman swearing affidavits at Maweu & Co. in Machakos exposes a terrifying reality: the Kenyan judicial system is infiltrated by fraudsters gambling with clients' lives.
Following the infamous case of Brian Mwenda, the "lawyer" who won cases without a degree, the LSK has launched a nationwide purge. Led by Council Member Wavinya Nicholas, the operation has raided firms in Machakos, Kisii, and Nairobi, arresting individuals who have never set foot in a law school.
"These are not just quacks; they are criminals," LSK President Faith Odhiambo asserted. "They take money from widows, they mishandle land cases, and when the case is lost, they vanish. We are cleaning the house."
The crackdown is a desperate bid to restore faith in the legal profession. Every fake lawyer exposed is a potential mistrial waiting to happen.
For the unsuspecting public, the LSK's message is simple: If your lawyer is afraid to show you their Practicing Certificate, you are not being represented; you are being conned.
