The Kenyan professional golfer is in a commanding position heading into the final day at Limuru Country Club, seeking victory in a tournament crucial for regional golf development and qualification for major tours.

LIMURU, Kenya – Muthaiga Golf Club’s Greg Snow established a commanding six-shot lead after the second round of the Betika Masters on Monday, November 10, 2025, positioning himself as the clear favourite heading into the final day of the tournament at Limuru Country Club. Snow delivered a second consecutive masterful performance, carding a 5-under par 67 to bring his 36-hole total to an impressive 11-under par.
The tournament is the eighth leg of the inaugural Sunshine Development Tour (SDT) – East Africa Swing, a series designed to provide a competitive pathway for regional professionals to earn world ranking points and qualify for larger international tours. Sponsored by gaming firm Betika, this leg features a prize purse of KSh 2 million and attracts a field of 88 professional and elite amateur golfers from across Africa.
Building on his opening-round lead, Snow started his day with formidable intent, securing birdies on the first three holes. His round on Monday included a total of seven birdies—on holes 1, 2, 3, 6, 10, 11, and 18—with bogeys on the 4th and 13th being the only blemishes on an otherwise stellar scorecard. His disciplined iron play and effective course management were key to navigating the Limuru course.
“It’s been good. I limited the mistakes and kept giving myself a lot of opportunities for birdies, and I’m taking advantage of that,” Snow stated after his round on Monday. “It’s really been good ball striking. For tomorrow, the plan is the same. Stick to the process, hit the greens, and create as many chances as possible. The putter is working well, so I just need to stay steady.”
Rwandan professional Celestin Nsanzuwera emerged as Snow's nearest challenger, moving into sole possession of second place. He carded a 2-under par 70 for a tournament total of 5-under par. His round was a mixed bag, featuring five birdies (3, 13, 15, 16, 18), a bogey on the 8th, and a double bogey on the 5th hole. Nsanzuwera has been a consistent performer on the tour, having secured victories in other legs of the East Africa Swing.
In third place is Kenyan rising star Njoroge Kibugu, who finished the day at 4-under par for the tournament after signing for a 3-under 69. Kibugu, who has already won three times during the inaugural SDT season, recorded six birdies but was hampered by a bogey on the 2nd and a costly double bogey on the 17th hole.
The Sunshine Development Tour – East Africa Swing is a critical platform for the region's golfing talent. It offers not only prize money but also crucial Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) points for professionals and World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points for elite amateurs. These points are vital for players aspiring to qualify for prestigious events like the Magical Kenya Open, a DP World Tour event, and the Sunshine Tour in South Africa. The tour represents a significant step in professionalizing the sport in East Africa, allowing local players to gain international exposure without the prohibitive costs of travelling abroad.
The final round on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, will determine the champion. While Snow's six-shot cushion gives him a significant advantage, the challenging Limuru course and the proven talent of his closest competitors promise a compelling conclusion to the Betika Masters.
