Viral CCTV footage showing 10 officers brutally assaulting youth in Nandi Hills sparks national outrage and calls for immediate prosecutions.

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has erupted in fury following the release of shocking CCTV footage that captures a squad of police officers brutally assaulting unarmed youth in Nandi Hills. The Senator has termed the incident "barbaric" and is demanding the immediate interdiction of the officers involved.
The video, which has gone viral, shows at least 10 officers, armed with guns and rungus, storming a pool hall at 11:51 PM on January 10. The officers are seen ordering the young men to lie down before descending on them with kicks, blows, and batons. In a disturbing twist, the officers forced the victims to put their ID cards in their mouths while being beaten.
"I want to strongly condemn these acts of police brutality, criminality, and abuse of human rights," Cherargei stated in a blistering press conference. "These are peace-loving youth whose only mistake was playing a game of pool. Since when did playing pool become a capital offense in Kenya?"
The incident has reignited the conversation about the culture of violence within the National Police Service. For the youth of Nandi Hills, the trauma is physical and psychological. MP Babu Owino also added his voice, stating, "Our youth deserve dignity, not violence."
As the investigation unfolds, the eyes of the nation are on Inspector General Douglas Kanja. Will this be another case of "investigations are ongoing" while the perpetrators walk free, or will the gavel finally fall on the criminals in uniform? The Senator's ultimatum is clear: Action now, or face the wrath of the people.
