Sports PS Peter Mwangi reassures the nation of Kenya’s readiness for AFCON 2027, dismissing skeptics and promising a world-class tournament despite tight deadlines.

Amidst doubts and slow contractors, Sports Principal Secretary Peter Tum Mwangi has come out swinging. "We will not just be ready; we will be spectacular," he told reporters, dismissing fears that Kenya might lose the hosting rights for AFCON 2027.
The PS revealed that the Talanta Sports City is 40% complete and that renovations at Kasarani are ahead of schedule. He termed the skepticism as "unpatriotic," urging Kenyans to rally behind the Pamoja Bid. "This is our moment. The world is coming to Nairobi, and we will give them a show."
While the rhetoric is confident, the PS knows that CAF inspectors deal in facts, not promises. The next six months are critical. If the steel and cement don't rise fast enough, the "bold claim" could turn into a diplomatic embarrassment. For now, the government is betting the house on finishing the job.
