Simba Arati reveals plans to reconcile ODM rebels and consolidate the party, asserting its independence despite the current cooperation with the government.

ODM Deputy Party Leader Simba Arati has unveiled a bold strategy to unite the Orange party, offering an olive branch to rebels while asserting the party's independence within the broad-based government.
Speaking in Kisii, the Governor addressed the internal fissures that have threatened to tear the party apart. He announced plans to reach out to dissenting members, provided they align with the party’s core ideology and respect the leadership of Raila Odinga.
Arati clarified the party’s complex position: cooperating with President Ruto’s government until 2027 for stability, but remaining a distinct political entity with its own ambitions. "We are in government to help Kenya work, not to sell our soul," he declared.
Arati’s move is a calculated play to consolidate his own power base while steadying the ODM ship. It signals that the party is already looking past the current handshake, eyeing the ultimate prize in 2027.
