The FKF Premier League newcomers land a crucial one-season sponsorship, ending a period of financial uncertainty and aiming to stabilize their top-flight campaign.

FKF Premier League debutants APS Bomet have secured a vital KES 11 million sponsorship deal with gaming firm Mozzart Bet, providing a significant financial boost for their inaugural top-flight season. The one-year renewable contract was formalized at the Administration Police Service headquarters in Nairobi, marking a pivotal moment for the Bomet-based club.
This sponsorship is more than just a logo on a shirt; it's a lifeline. For a club that has faced significant financial challenges while impressively gaining promotion, this deal provides the stability needed to compete at the highest level of Kenyan football. The package includes KES 10 million in cash and an additional KES 1 million for team merchandise.
Gilbert Masengeli, the Deputy Inspector General of APS and the club's deputy patron, termed the partnership a "big sigh of relief." He noted the club's past financial struggles and expressed confidence that the sponsorship signals "the beginning of good times."
APS Bomet becomes the sixth football club to join Mozzart Bet's sponsorship umbrella, a strategic expansion of the firm's investment in local sports. The company's portfolio now includes two Premier League teams and four in the National Super League (NSL), underscoring a broad commitment to fostering talent from the grassroots up.
Mozzart Bet's other sponsored clubs include:
Frank Ochieng, Mozzart Bet's Marketing Manager, emphasized the company's dedication to enhancing sports in the country. Rolex Sirma, a Director at the gaming firm, added that APS Bomet was the "most deserving club for this sponsorship" due to their strong performance even without prior financial backing.
The injection of funds is timely for the club, which has faced challenges beyond finances, including the lack of a designated home ground after the Bomet IAAF Stadium was closed for renovations. This sponsorship could provide the operational stability needed to navigate such logistical hurdles and focus on performance.
For many Kenyan clubs, corporate sponsorship is the dividing line between survival and collapse. This partnership not only secures APS Bomet's immediate future but also sends a positive signal about the growing corporate confidence in the Kenyan Premier League. As the season progresses, the club will be under pressure to translate this financial backing into on-field success, a challenge they now face with greater resources.
