About the Event

The 2025 Africa Evidence Summit, the 13th annual event of its kind, is an in-person gathering scheduled for June 23rd and 24th, 2025, at the Mövenpick Hotel & Residences in Nairobi, Kenya. Co-hosted by the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) at the University of California, Berkeley, and the Network of Impact Evaluation Researchers in Africa (NIERA), this summit plays a crucial role in advancing evidence-based development in Africa. \n\nThe primary objective of the summit is to bring together East and West African scholars, global faculty from higher education institutions, policymakers, and practitioners. The focus is on discussing and advancing the latest evidence related to economic development and poverty alleviation across the African continent. The summit also aims to amplify the voices of African scholars, foster new research collaborations, and innovate new methodologies for integrating robust evidence into decision-making processes. \n\nAttendees can expect a stimulating environment for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaborative ideation. The target audience includes researchers, academics, government officials, representatives from non-governmental organizations, and development practitioners who are committed to using evidence to inform policy and practice for sustainable development in Africa. While general registration is closed, invited speakers, presenters, funders, and co-sponsors have specific registration channels.
